Jeszcze półtora roku temu nikt by pewnie nie dawał Bernardowi Hopkinsowi (52-5-2, 32 KO) większych szans w konfrontacji z Chadem Dawsonem (30-1, 17 KO), lecz dziś zdaniem wielu to właśnie "Kat" jest faworytem. Młodszy o siedemnaście lat Dawson nie przejmuje się jednak tymi opiniami i wydaje się być bardzo pewny siebie przed zaplanowaną na 15 października konfrontacją.
- Jestem młodszy, szybszy i silniejszy, a Hopkins nie walczył z bokserem mojego kalibru od dobrej dekady, a jak już walczył, to przegrywał. Moim marzeniem zawsze było zdetronizowanie Bernarda z tronu. Po 15 października skończy się jego era jako najstarszego mistrza świata - zapewnia jedyny dotąd pogromca Tomasza Adamka w wywiadzie dla Los Angeles Times.

Tak.Bernard walczył z wieloma wybitnymi zawodnikami a teraz to mnie jedynie zadziwia tym jak się trzyma.Nie raz go skreślano a znów jest mistrzem,coś niebywałego.Kibicuję jemu ale zero zawodu jak przegra:)On ma prawo wygrać i przegrać i nic mu nie zarzucę.A z Joe walczył i nadal walczy ,będąc nie w swojej życiowej formie ale to jego past prime nadal jest zagrożeniem dla każdego:)
