SOSNOWSKI: I NEEDED A CAMP LIKE THIS
Albert Sosnowski (45-2-1, 27 KO) who will face Vitali Klitchko (39-2, 37 KO) on May 29 in Gelsenkirchen finished his preparation camp in Zakopane. While his Ukrainian opponent starts serious tranings in Austia on the next week, the Polish heavyweight continually trains his strength and stamina, this time in Warsaw. Being interviewed by BOKSER.ORG, Sosnowski was talking about a few significant aspects connected with his preparations and further plans concerning the biggest fight in his professional career.
- Albert, you have just finished one of your final strength-endurance trainings which were prepared by a speciallist, especially for you.
Albert Sosnowski: Yes, currently we are finishing the period of physical preparations, only two weeks of them remain. I do my best during my trainings because it will be the most important fight in my life. I count that these hard trainings will bring positive results on May 29 and I will be able to fight in a good pace, in a good shape.
- Before you came to Warsaw, you have been training at the preparation camp in Zakopane with several boxers from KnockOut Promotions, under the watchful gaze of Fiodor Łapin. What did the trainings look like?
AS: In Zakopane we mainly focused on endurance trainings. I also started my tactical preparations with my coach, Fiodor Łapin. I have just started a team-work with my coach so we needed to get to know each other well.The whole group had welcomed me with open arms, I became acclimatized very quickly. I'm glad that I could work with them. It was a really succesful period especially as I haven't been at such a camp for a long time. It gave me new energy and power, I needed a camp like this.
- Now you will spend a few days training in Warsaw and subsequently you are going to prepare yourself in Wisła. What are you planning to do there?
AS: This week I trained once a day, from the upcoming one I start to perform two trainings during one day. There will be consequently more and more boxing and techinical excercises in my trainings. I am going to spend three weeks in Wisła, chiefly in order to spar. My sparringpartners will resemble Vitali Klitchko by their dimensions. I will find out about my actual shape and possibilities to punch such a tall fighters. Certainly, we will also continue our preparations concerning tactics. Day after day the intenisty of my trainings will be higher. I will be definitely performing more and more typical boxing exercises.
