KOSTECKI-CICHELLO FOR IBC TITLE IN RZESZÓW
Undefeated since 2006 Dawid Kostecki (32-1, 22 KO) will stand a chance of winning vacant IBC light heavyweight belt during "Wojak Boxing Night" on February 6th in Rzeszów, Poland. His opponent will be a former pretender to EBU-EU title – Dario Cichello (18-6-2, 5 KO).
'78 born Cichello is a bit taller than Kostecki, he is 1,84 m. In 2008, the Italian lost via unanimous decision to Antonio Brancalion in a fight for EBU-EU light heavyweight title. The bout turned out to be the only Cichello's defeat in three years time.
Originally, Kostecki's promoters announced Carl Handy as the rival of "Gypsy" in Rzeszów but the decision was changed in connection with possible problems of the opponent's leaving his country – Canada.
- Rzeszów is my hometown. I was born there, I have a lot of great supporters in the city. I just can't wait to fight – said 28-year-old Kostecki, beaten only once in his professional career. - I don't intend to philosophize talking about my rival. My aim is easy – the victory.
